Environmental Awareness

Children’s awareness of the world around them is so important, and there are more and more occasions to celebrate our planet. Earth Day falls on the 22nd April, and there are several other opportunities to recognise the importance of different parts of our planet (World Environment Day on the 5th June, World Rainforest Day on the 8th June, and World Rainforest Day on 22nd June)

More and more schools are choosing to highlight the importance of protecting our planet with their students, and I am offering two workshops to engage children’s imaginations and inspire discussion about our world:

The Seaside (EYFS and KS1) Children will have the opportunity to explore the sights and sounds of the seaside! They will discover the creatures that make their home here, and explore the history of these beautiful parts of our country. They will also understand the threats posed to our beaches, and identify ways in which we can protect them.

Going Green (KS1 and KS2) A workshop that explores the impact that humans have on Planet Earth, and the choices that we can make to help

The Rainforest (KS1 and KS2) This workshop allows children to fully explore the rainforest. They will discover the plants and animals that make up this ecosystem, and all of the vital things that it brings to our world

These workshops are particularly popular during the summer term, but are available all year round.

The children really enjoyed your workshop, and the pace was perfect for them! They have been talking about the Victorian seaside all day!
